Why is it aesthetically unpleasing?

 一郎撰寫《宋體滾蛋,還我細明》時,製作過一張圖表,列擧臺灣敎育部所謂「國字標準字形」的明體字樣,即「臺標宋體」,與傳承明體的對比,並指出它何以不美觀。爲方便英語朋友明白,字友Desmond Ma兄翻譯了英文。如下:

Why is it aesthetically unpleasing?

言:
(1) Asymmetrical “dot” stroke.
(2) Bottom part severely unbalanced. Only the left vertical stroke protruded, as opposed to having both vertical strokes protruding.

文:
(1) Asymmetrical “dot” stroke.
(2) Unnatural start of “rightward falling” stroke.

飴:
(1) Asymmetrical corners.
(2) Bottom part severely unbalanced.

為:
Upper part too narrow.

青:
The bottom left stroke should not be an “throw” stroke which is asymmetric.

育:
(1) Upper part unbalanced.
(2) Symmetry severely disrupted.

出:
Bottom part severely unbalanced. Only the right vertical stroke protruded, as opposed to having both vertical strokes protruding.

山:
Bottom part severely unbalanced. Only the right vertical stroke protruded, as opposed to having both vertical strokes protruding.

追:
(1) White spaces unbalanced in “walk (辶)” radical.
(2) Bottom part of “buttocks (𠂤)”severely unbalanced.

活:
(1) Asymmetrical corners.
(2) Bottom part severely unbalanced. Only the left vertical stroke protruded, as opposed to having both vertical strokes protruding.

沾:
(1) Asymmetrical corners.
(2) Bottom part severely unbalanced. Only the left vertical stroke protruded, as opposed to having both vertical strokes protruding.

信:
(1) Asymmetrical “dot” stroke.
(2) Bottom part severely unbalanced. Only the left vertical stroke protruded, as opposed to having both vertical strokes protruding.

華:
Ambiguous stroke, neither vertical nor slanted.

女:
Stroke terminates immediately at break without protruding, disrupting center of balance.

紫:
Stroke terminates immediately at break without protruding, disrupting center of balance and distorting “silk (糸)” radical at the bottom.

瓜:
Left and right white spaces severely unbalanced.

波:
Head of “right hand (又)” too wide, disrupting balance.

孚:
(1) Over-crowded upper part.
(2) Bottom horizontal stroke too low, disrupting balance.
